What began as a handful of individuals getting together to talk over an idea in February 2006 has evolved into The Watkins Glen High School Alumni Association, Inc.  

The Association was incorporated August 23, 2006 and adopted its Constitution and By-Laws August 24, 2006.  The Association was so fortunate and extends a warm “thank you” to Linda (Knapp) McIntyre, Class of 1965, for designing our logo.   A huge "thank you" also goes to Maggie Field, Class of 1981, for her expertise in getting the Association’s web site up and running in the fall of 2006. In 2008, Fred Wickham of the Class of 1978, digitized the Association's logo so it may more readily be accessed and used for various needs.  A grateful thank you is extended to Fred for this assist and sharing his time and talent. 

The Association is a tax exempt organization. It is with the generosity of time and effort volunteered by Dennis Morris, an Attorney and Alumni Association Board Member, that the Association can announce it received notification in December, 2007 of having been granted charitable status under Section 501 (c) 3 of the Internal Revenue Code.   The public charity distinction makes the Alumni Association eligible to receive tax deductible bequests, devises, transfer or gifts. In light of Association's charitable status,"In Honor/Memory" tax deductible donations, which are dedicated to scholarship funding, are being accepted.  Forms for donations can be found on this website by clicking here

Its Board consists of 15 individuals, 4 of whom constitute an Executive Board.  (See “Contact Us” for Board information.)  The Association’s Annual Meeting is held in September.

The Association's annual membership year begins on January 1st and ends December 31st of the following year.  Renewal notices are mailed to members.  Individual voting membership is available for persons having attended or graduated from Watkins Glen High School.  Also, anyone not having attended, but interested in supporting the Association's efforts, can apply for a non-voting Honorary Membership.   Membership cost is $25.

It is only with your financial support and participation that the Association can meet its goals and accomplish the mission of awarding scholarships, honoring distinguished alumni, supporting the annual Alumni Banquet and encouraging fellowship among graduates of Watkins Glen High School.
